Two Icons - Southbank and South Wharf

Southbank Promenade is one of Melbourne's major entertainment precincts, boasting many restaurants, hotels and craft beer bars along with spectacular river and city views. Cultural venues abound, like the state-of-the-art Melbourne Recital Centre which regularly hosts classical concerts and the aptly named Malthouse Theatre, housed in a restored brewery.

It’s the place the locals go to enjoy waterside dining, drinking, shopping, or just strolling. At night, visitors are delighted to see giant fireballs light up the sky, compliments of Crown's Gas Brigades.

In 2008 the Victorian Government created the new suburb 'South Wharf', situated at the western end of Southbank. One of its standout buildings is the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. South Wharf features beautifully restored heritage sheds, now converted into vibrant waterfront restaurants, bars and cafes.

Both Southbank and South Wharf are dynamic, multifaceted destinations that embody Melbourne’s vibrant spirit, offering something special for locals and visitors alike, whether its dining, shopping, the arts simply relaxing beside the Yarra River.
