Fun Over 50 Holidays developed their Our People & Planet Program which has evolved to provide vital support to the many communities and projects where we operate. These include trusts contributing to multiple wildlife, nature, and heritage conservation projects, financial commitment to the Great Barrier Reef Restoration Foundation, and contributions to the Tasmanian Devils@Cradle Sanctuary.
Fun Over 50 Holidays employs local community tour guides and interpreters, ensuring an authentic, and immersive experience for their guests, and employment and cultural heritage preservation in local communities around areas of operation. We also engage with drought relief programs, Indigenous support programs, and other local cultural heritage programs.

The Green Travel Leader logo celebrates ten years of ECO Certification and represents a long-standing commitment to sustainability from our certified operators. It is awarded to businesses which have consistently proven their commitment to sustainable tourism management over ten years.
Our Green Guest Policy (GGP) means it costs less to contribute. It lets you choose to forfeit your room servicing at specific hotels during your tour, which saves water, electricity and disposable amenities. And, you end up with some money back in your pocket for participating.
Get your hands a little grubby on tour by choosing to participate in planting trees, herbs or flowers. A little work with big benefits and you will receive a souvenir polo shirt and cap for your efforts.

When filling out your booking form, ready to embark on your next adventure, you will notice the Green Bank Contribution section. We are happy to accept any amount you might like to send to the Green Bank. It is simple. Just nominate an amount and add this to your deposit.
Are you looking to meet new people? Do you love gardening? Want a little exercise to stay fit? Gather a few friends or register yourself. Call us to ask when the next event is being held. We volunteer our guests, staff and crew to participate in local plantings or clean up days. Most times it is just a few hours and not too strenuous. Call us to join!
An itinerary is developed with a specific community cause in mind and a donation is made during the tour that the guests participate in.
An itinerary is developed with a specific cause in mind, where labour is required. The company heavily subsidises the tour (donates the coach) to reduce the cost of the tour and guests who choose to travel, must in return, provide labour to the cause. A mix of holiday touring with a ‘work’ element.
In 2019, we introduced a ban of plastic bags for staff and guests while touring. All guests are advised of the policy and given a reusable calico bag to use on tour.
In 2020, we took this policy another step further and put into place the No Plastic Partner Program (NPPP). We now have strict expectations for our suppliers and partners. As part of the NPPP all supplier contracts clearly state that no plastics, where possible, are to be used when hosting Fun Over 50 Holidays groups.
We have partnered with Greenfleet since 2014 for a number of tree planting events and initiatives. We are proud to say that we now offset all guests, crew and staff travel emissions.
While FOF itself has been working hard to reduce its plastic footprint, we feel a greater impact will happen with the support of our guests, staff and suppliers, working together in a partnership to eliminate as much single-use plastic on our tours as possible. By all working together we can make change, and even if we focus on single-use items such as plastic water bottles and plastic bags, we could potentially save millions of bottles & bags from ending up in our ocean and landfill.
