Yes! Visitors on the tour have direct access to special ‘secret’ snorkel sites at Hook Island and Border Island. Snorkelling above the amazing underwater world of the Whitsundays is an unforgettable experience. You’ll explore hidden coves, glide above stunning coral reefs and watch the antics of an amazing display of marine life. If you’re a first-time snorkeller, you’ll be shown how to easily and safely float above the ocean viewing its natural wonders.
If you go for a snorkel, look out for colourful clownfish, huge Māori Wrasse, giant stingrays, and majestic sea turtles. When above water, you may even be lucky enough to see dolphins playing alongside your boat.
The best time to do an Ocean Raft tour is during the dry season, between May and September. This period generally has the most favourable weather and sea conditions for an enjoyable tour experience. This is also outside of stinger season, making it safer for snorkelling and swimming.
