We depart from the Brisbane Coach Terminal on our opulent ‘Diamond Class’ or luxury ‘Gold Class’ coach, travelling responsibly knowing all coach emissions are 100% offset. We travel through the Lockyer Valley and continue through Toowoomba and Chinchilla to Roma.
This morning we continue west, breaking at Tambo to visit Tambo Teddies before we continue to Barcaldine for the night. Tonight enjoy a Desert Dreaming Dinner, a night filled with indigenous food, dance and song.
Following breakfast at the Desert Dreaming Centre, partake in an authentic cultural journey as ancient and contemporary shared histories come alive through the passion of Cheryl Thompson, descendent of the Yiningai people. The Connecting to Country experience offers an insight into traditional tribal body art and its meanings, dot painting and tribal stories. We then make our way to Ilfracombe for lunch at the historic Wellshot Hotel before finishing our day in Longreach. Tonight at sunset, cruise down the mighty Thomson River before dining under an outback sky enjoying a camp oven themed dinner and show.
Today we explore the best of Longreach. Discover aviation history at Qantas Founders Museum and hear stories of one of the world’s pioneering airlines. We visit the historic 1922 Qantas hangar, then take a guided tour of the 747 and 707 jets. At the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame, discover outback heritage from indigenous tribes to explorers and stockmen. Enjoy a fully immersive 20 minute cinematic experience showcasing footage of the birth of a nation through the eyes of the Australian Stockman.
Travelling to Winton we spend time at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs, the world’s largest collection of unique Australian dinosaur fossils. Enjoy lunch and a guided tour taking in the Fossil Laboratory collection room and March of the Titanosaurs exhibition at Dinosaur Canyon. Next we travel through Kynuna and on to the Walkabout Creek Hotel– famous for being recognised as the pub in the Paul Hogan movie ‘Crocodile Dundee’. We finish our day upon our arrival in Cloncurry.
Travelling west to Mount Isa we get adventurous at the Hard Times Mine, taking a tour with an experienced miner guide. Kitted-out in overalls and cap lamps we descend into the mine to explore the history of mining. On returning to Cloncurry we learn about the RFDS with a visit to John Flynn Place.
We travel north to Burke & Wills Roadhouse for a break before continuing onto Normanton for lunch. We stop at the Big Croc for a photo with this life sized replica of what is said to be the largest croc ever captured before we make our way to Karumba.
Visit the Barramundi Discovery Centre and learn about the live breeding program. This afternoon we board the Sand Island sunset dinner cruise and soak up a Gulf Sunset feasting on gulf prawns, nibbles, beer, wine and bubbly.
This morning we travel to Normanton to board the Gulflander for a scenic rail journey through the Gulf Savannah bushland. We disembark at Croydon, enjoying lunch before continuing on to Georgetown to visit the Ted Elliott Mineral Collection, a stunning collection of over 4500 specimens. Our next stop is Forsayth, where we enjoy a drink with the locals before transferring into Cobbold Gorge.
This morning we take a thrilling helicopter flight, soaring over the vastness and beauty of the Gulf Savannah region. We then cross the glass bridge and take an electric powered boat cruise and glide through the gorge in almost eerie silence, ensuring minimal disturbance to wildlife. After lunch enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of this idyllic setting by the infinity pool.
Departing Cobbold Gorge we arrive at Forsayth to join the Savannahlander rail journey to Einasleigh to explore the Copperfield Gorge and enjoy lunch. We continue by train to Mount Surprise, then transfer by coach to Undara.
Join a local Savannah guide for a tour of the Undara Lava Tubes. Formed over 190,000 years ago from violent seismic action and frozen in time, these lava tubes are part of the longest lava flow from a single volcanic crater in modern geological time. Our afternoon takes us through the scenic Atherton Tablelands to Cairns.
After breakfast this morning we make our way to Cairns Airport for our respective Carbon Neutral flights home.

Our coach tours have a baggage restriction of 17kg per person (regardless of flight and rail allowances) due to our Occupational Health & Safety standards. You can also bring one small, soft carry-on bag not exceeding 30cm wide, 30cm high, and 15cm thick that may be stowed in the overhead compartment.
Each of our tours has a fitness rating which describes the level of physical activity involved with the tour. These ratings are very important when choosing your tour to ensure it's right for you. Our fitness ratings are:
Our Gold Class coaches have a seat capacity of between 44 and 46, but we cap Gold Class tours at 40 guests per tour. Our Diamond Class tours have a capacity of just 26 guests.
